Hi, I am moving to Hauppauge, which I have heard is a nice town. However, I know that it borders Central Islip, which I have not heard nice things about. I want to make sure that my kids do not go to school there, so I was wondering if there are any areas in Hauppauge zoned for Central Islip schools? Additionally, are any areas in Central Islip zoned for Hauppauge schools (incase I can find a nice house in said area?

Any competent real estate agent should be able to tell you where the house officially resides. There are sections of Smithtown that attend Hauppauge Schools. To my knowledge, no area in a Central Islip or Islandia Zip Code/Hamlet attends hauppauge SD.

Homes in Hauppauge (as shown on MLS and related sites) are mostly in the Hauppauge SD; some are in the Smithtown SD.
The Hauppauge SD includes a large part of Hauppauge, a very small part of Nesconset, parts of Smithtown and parts of Commack.
No areas in Central Islip are in the Hauppauge SD.

There are no parts of the hamlet of CI that are in Hauppauge schools.

IF you are buying, make sure you get the original tax bill to look at before you buy. It will have the school district name on it.

No offense to an RE person on here, but looking at the tax bill or calling the town or school district is the only true method of verifying the SD.

There is actually a section south of the LIE that is Hauppauge hamlet with Haupauge schools, Bretton Woods.

No offense taken.
Depending on the Town or County, I either go online or call the tax assessor's office to get accurate, current taxes. Few homeowners know what their true taxes are; Villages require an additional call.

No worries. As most towns on LI the borders are sealed and no riff raff spillage happens.
