My windshield is cracked pretty bad so I am going to have it replaced. I was originally going to go with Safelite but they want $400 and Suffolk Auto Glass is only charging $332 if I go through Auto Glass Guru which includes everything, even coming to my house with no additional charge while Safelite would charge an additional $25 to come to me. Another reason I am considering using Suffolk Auto Glass is that they claim to use OEM instead of OEE while Safelite uses OEE glass.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any input to help me figure out which place to go to. I don't mind spending the extra $68 to go to Safelite if it would be the better place to go to but so far it's not looking that way.

Thanks!

I used them on my 99 Outback a few years ago with no problems but I did not care if it was OEM,OEE or even OCD. I just wanted a windshield. As for extra cost with Safelite...they have to pay franchise fees and advertising I would guess.

I've always run it thru insurance so I've always had Safelite do it since it didnt cost me more one way or the other.

Safelite had to come to my house 3x this past month for faulty repairs. They damaged my navigation by clipping the wire. My experience was not positive. Maybe it was the tech who replaced it. I'm sure that you will hear raves about them from others. We had to send our truck back to the dealer to repair what safelite damaged. I hope your luck is better.

I would recommend using Mr Glass 990 Grand Blvd, Deer Park, NY. I've used them a few times and they are great.

Chiming in here to suggest Expressway Auto-Glass located at 32 gazza blvd. in farmingdale - - 631-694-1166. Its a great local business that has treated me well in the past. They will come to you free of charge and submit all paper work to your insurance directly.
