Exactly. I tried this am and saw all the people waiting on lines at stations that had no gas and were waiting for deliveries. That's nuts.

I'm stopping for groceries on the way home and we are staying put all weekend until this nonsense calms down.

I can understand the need to get gas for generators and I am sympathetic to people waiting on line for gas for that reason.

But why on earth wouldn't people fill up before the storm? I filled up last Sunday and should have enough until next week.

Just kidding what ever number the first letter is (odd/even) determines the day.
I never knew letters could be odd or even !

Add it to the list of "why's" in how people prepared for this weather event.

I overheard a woman who sits a few cubes over that she sat in line at a gas station for 3 hours in Hauppauge...

WHY DIDN'T PEOPLE FILL UP ON SUNDAY! You could have filled up empty gas cans then too as back up for your cars. I have a half tank and I am not using my car at all until Monday of work is open.My husbands car has almost a full tank in fact with the gas shortage he may be riding his motorcycle to work.

If you were powering a generator all of your gas cans would have been empty days ago.

Yeah I guess but I don't have a generator. I guess I never thought about generators. My husband wants to hardwire one into the house. They cost about $10,000. Maybe some day we can do that.
