Something that I'll miss about Long Island is the beautiful skies that we have. On the south shore , when you are driving due east at a certain time in the mid-afternoon, the light is almost ethereal . It's easy to see why the southern East end attracted so many artists. The light is so pure that it is incandescent .

Well where you're heading Nancy, i'm sure the skies will also look amazing.
Just hope you don't get too much rain in between.

Sure has gotton cold early here hasn't it? Heyyyyyy...where's global warming when ya need it? LOL

I know what Nancy is talking about. The light on the east end is something else. Too bad you have to fight traffic to get there.

Would anyone want a thread to post pics of LI scenery like the one you have posted here?

There is one like that on the Portland forum (and it stays on top) and every now and then I look at it to see what I am missing. I think that's a great idea, thanks.

I even have some of the long ago Strongs Neck from the 1950s. It's just too sad, though.
