What's interesting about threads like this is that, while we complain about so many bad contractors on LI, it's good to know there are still plenty of folks who do the job right.

We had ours done by Center County (Robert) based in Westbury last year. 5-ton Carrier and new flex ductwork thoughout.
Colonial type, blower in attic, 2 ducts in attic, 4 on 2nd floor and 3 on 1st floor. Took 4 days, $10.5k. This is their busy season and alot of contracters are backed up 3-4 weeks already. I had a range of $8.5-16k.
Good luck, its the best improvement for the house so far

edit,
I also had a ductless priced out and it was $15k too. Placement of the units inside killed it for me as the only area in my living room would of been above the fireplace.

Second Cool Power-we had them install gas boiler and hot water heater after Sandy-very professional, reasonably priced, top-notch job during the installation, highly recommend them. Also, Universe Appliance in Seaford-they service our boiler and heater normally, we would have also gone with them after Sandy but their office was destroyed and the waiting list for the installation was 6 weeks as opposed to the 2 weeks with Cool Power.

It may be fine but at $15k...I'd get two other estimates.

So you are getting 2 separate 3 ton ductless split systems installed.

What type of house do you have?

Im pretty sure I can get that installed for you at a much cheaper price.

When do you need it done by? Im swamped right now.
