the moorings, erharts clam bar (gone but the attached bar is still there if you dare enter), original texas ranger, freeport. Mcluskeys steak house, bellmore? Blue marlin, beef steak charlies, merrick. my friends and i (about 20) of us would go and reserve a huge table. I guess the manager was happy to book such a large party until we showed up, a bunch of 18 year old high school seniors who went to work on the free beer, wine and sangria, not to mention the all you could eat shrimp and sald. thanks to the op for bringing back those memories

Ickle Bickles! A name I haven't heard in a while. My older sister used to go there all the time with her work friends.
Just the other day talking with that same sister we both reminisced about the Howard Johnson's that was on Sunrise Highway (not sure if it was Valley Stream or Lynbrook). We grew up in Valley Stream and as kids it was a treat when our parents took us there. The Publick House, also on Sunrise, although I remember that more for drinking than a restaurant :-)
While I'm at it, there was another place on Merrick Road (I think it was called The Cantina). As teens we would go there (primarily for the Sangria :-) ) but would also get cheese and pepperoni platters to scarf down with it.
