Yes I did not have a car for awhile so I would say anyplace you are on the LIRR line and you can walk to your home. It does help to have a car here though.
Unless you're living in Extreme Western Nassau County (Western Elmont, Western Valley Stream, Western New Hyde Park, Bellerose, Western Manhasset), FUGEDDABOUTIT. You're asking for trouble.
In those places just mentioned, you can either walk to a Queens Bus Line or have somewhat dependable NICE service, but only during Peak AM-Peak PM.
