I'm looking to purchase a property for about $430,000 with 20% down in nassau county. Anyone knows how much my closing cost my be? Any recomendation of a bank. I got a few quotes from 9,000 to 16,000, but they are all estimates.

Talk to Bethpage Federal Credit Union. We used them twice and thought they were great to work with. Rates are very competitive.

Estimates are correct. Can't recall our exact figure, but anyway only your approved lender can give you the correct amount just prior to closing. Which means, get quotes and hope they stick to it. We have a rep at Wells Fargo who's been right on the money at least twice now.

It depends if you want to escrow your taxes or not. If you don't escrow the costs at closing will be a lot less.

Unless you have a downpayment well in excess of 20%, lenders generally won't give you the choice to escrow or not
