I grew up in Huntington and ours started with AR1 (a/k/a 271) and up until about 5 years ago my dad would still say, "yes our number is AR1....." How embarrassing!

Yea thats OLD school, you hear more of it in the City.

My aunt in Inwood was CE9 (Cedarhurst 9)
Grandma in East Rockaway was LY3 (Lynbrook 3)
