Yes, that would be the Westbury Union Free School District, and, because of its large minority enrollment, it is viewed as a very sketchy school district.

Port Washington. Easy commute to Manhattan on the LIRR's most dependable line. Nice walking downtown with water views. Nice houses. Great library. Kind of its own little world.

I was just about to post this. PW is definitely on my list - along with Sands Point and Great Neck.

Other areas I think are nice:
North Bellmore and the area around Bedford Ave (very small-town feel)
Long Beach (very nice in the summer)
Wantagh

My personal favorites are Manhasset and Valley Stream.

Manhasset has a very affluent feel, shopping, close to NYC, diverse, beautiful homes, close to water.

Valley Stream is close to shopping, somewhat affordable, close to NYC, diverse, close to Parkways.

I do like killing some time driving through the back roads up there....Westchester is a good comparison. I guess if I had more than a million dollars I'd be living in Sea Cliff right now, that's continually my favorite. There's really only a handful of places I wouldn't want to live in Nassau, though; I think it's all great.
I have a soft spot for Sea Cliff too! Very pretty and has its own beach. Nice old victorians.

Muttontown makes me think of King Zog of Albania who, in 1951, bought the Knollwood estate in Muttontown. (The sixty-room estate was never occupied and Zog sold the estate in 1955.)

Me, too: the Village of Sea Cliff is the only city, village or hamlet that is coterminous with the same-named ZIP Code postal zone ("Sea Cliff, NY 11579").
