Visit your local Post Office and ask to speak to the postmaster, explain your problem. Problem solved.

Cross off the name & write: "not known at this address, Return to sender", & drop it back in the post office. Cross your address off the envelope if it comes back to you, and drop it back in the post box.

The post master told me they're unable to re-route it if there's no real address (change of address submission), so you can exploit that and pass the problem on to an enemy.

But what you can actually do is put up a small note at the mailbox that only mail addressed to (last name) should go there. They should honor it as they have for me.

Maybe its something good like social security checks or something?
I say open the stuff up and keep anything good and toss the rest as junk mail.

I like your spirit but I think there's a federal law that deals with that...

What would be better is some illicit "silk road" material - fentanyl, oxy, etc.

Just google the name; you'll probably find it was someone who was chained up in your basement for years who either escaped or died. If they died , just toss it; if they escaped you need to find a forwarding address.

I am in my home almost 5 years, albeit in De. On occasion, I will get mail for the former owner. It is usually junk, I toss it, if it looks important, I drop it off at the post office and the tell the postmaster. Usually, it is because our regular carrier is off and the mail has been sorted by a fill in. You are under no obligation to locate the person but out of courtesy, especially when 1099's etc. and things of such nature are coming in, it is helpful to drop them off at the post office.
