I wonder if when these employees at the supermarket hit that other car, they ran off because their own car is uninsured and didn't want to be caught? This is all speculation on my part.
Saw the most recent reports on the news tonight. I wonder why the driver fled the initial accident. I wonder if he had a driver's license or maybe there was some other reason to fear an interaction with the police. Feel terrible for the two passengers.

It looks like the 3 men are Central American/Hispanic, so it could be that they are illegal and/or driving without a license or in an uninsured car...if the license plate is Maryland/South Carolina/PA/IL it would be a major clue.

Driver's license wouldn't matter. I've seen people drive like lunatics and they have a license.

If they are illegal, expect an even greater push to give illegals driver licenses.
People driving around the gates is something that happens fairly often, and has for the entire existence of the railroad. As such, it's something the MTA should be dealing with.
