I wouldn't waste my time with Lindenhurst if I were you. I remember putting in an offer on a home for 448K. They were asking 469K. But the appraisal came in at 420K. We had to let it go because the seller would not come down in price. Nor should they. It then sold a month later for 440K. Seemed fishy to me.

Yes honestly it is too far for me to live in Lindenhurst, but I been looking to buy an house for over a year. Would you recommend any good areas that isn’t further away from Farmingdale. My budget is $370K with 9K in taxes.

Hempstead, Brownsville, holis, st Albans, Freeport. Lots of cheap places nearby
Yes I understand and the reason my budget is low because of the taxes. If the taxes are lower the more loan amount I would get, such as $420K with 4K taxes. The taxes is what is killing me in Long Island :-(.

I think 9,000 in taxes is going to be hard to come by.
You'd definitely have to go into Suffolk for 9k taxes. The Islips and such you may be able to find a deal around 400k with around 9k taxes.
You're not gonna get 9k taxes in Nassau. At least not for long. You just might find something for 9-11k but they only go up every year. Even with grieving, it only minimizes the increases.
