Many want the unemployment ...a lot of lower wage earners are doing better on unemployment plus the 400 a week then their pay ...we really don’t know the real deal yet .
I know the company I work for in retirement one day a week got their funding package and have 350 employees coming back tomorrow.. many were collecting unemployment ...the business is exempt so they can have all workers come back
It’s not lower wage earners. Anyone earning under $70-$75k is more than likely better off with unemployment than working when you factor in “all” deductions.
$300 per week for unemployment PLUS $600 for CV relief. No wonder half these people still want the economy still shut down.
...plus remember we have a whole under ground economy worth billions ...not only do many partake in that but many are working off the books or will be while collecting ...so take these numbers with a grain of salt for now

In theory that is true. Longer one is unemployed, worst it is. People are also gong stir crazy
That unemployment $ 3 plus 6 or whatnot, is not going to be here for much longer... It's very temporary.
most people unfortunately only think in the short term.
the company i retired from in long island grew from a 6 million dollar company when i started in 1998 to over 100 million today ...
they were hiring like crazy since 2009 . we went from 6 employees when i started to 350 today ....... low end positions would come in and tell us they wanted 20 an hour because that is what it would take to beat their unemployment and working off the books at the deli .

so they would decline the jobs .
This is going on in the public sector all over upstate. We don't see it here because we're so "affluent." But upstate in the schools they can't have any activities. No cleaners, monitors, security, etc. The schools pay $10-12/hr per diem and no benefits. They can get $15/hr plus bennies at McDonalds. It's a conundrum. Priorities. Why Sander's message resonates.
at the end of the day all that counts is how it effects each of us individually ... no one looks out for me ... ultimatly i am responsible for staying financially healthy and not having tax payers support me ... i can only worry about how i do . i may be concerned about others but not my worry , i am my own worry .
