Excellent. Thanks. I hope all 3 get built. I wonder if the Allegria and/or the GC hotel will hurt the other's chances of being built. Can the developer manage 2 major hotel developments/renovations?
"The general plan is for a 250-slip marina, five mixed-used towers 10 to 14 stories high, a restaurant-catering facility atop the tallest tower, an outdoor amphitheater and promenade along the railroad tracks linking the development to the center of town.
The waterfront site is bounded by the LIRR bridge on the west and Long Beach Boulevard Bridge on the east. It includes an abandoned city incinerator, two public utility sites and some commercial structures."
The last thing I know is that the Incinerator that was in that area was torn down last summer. That was "Phase 1" I guess. There are a lot of utility and industrial stuff in that area near water street. I think they are working on relocating all of it. The plan is to join the marina with the recreation center. I think it's fabulous myself. It will really clean up that area around there plus it gives Long Island an area that it lacks.
I'll try to dig around some more. If I find anything, I will post it here. I do know that the final plans haven't been presented and haven't been approved yet by the CIty of Long Beach, but a lot of people want this done - especially since Long Beach doesn't really have a true marina.

This is amazing, really, to have these 3 major developments going on, not to mention all those nice condos, etc. built or being built. It's great for the city and for LI as a whole. Hopefully this type of thinking spreads.
Yes GCGUY I agree. Plus it's smart development. Long Beach is making sure that enough parking spaces are part of the plan before any of these are approved, plus they need to be "green" buildings.
The King David Manor transformation to the hotel/spa will have more spaces then it needs. I know a lot of people in Long Beach are worried about the area being gentrified or becoming the next Hamptons, but it wont. I, myself won't be using this hotel or spa, but every great area needs mixed uses and development . I really believe the city of Long Beach is making sure that it will stay to be a city for all people. Plus these developments are replacing lots and buildings which sorely need to be replaced.
