Default Parking at Train in Port Washington and RVC

Hello,
I'm looking for a house in port washington or rockville centre, i was curious if anyone knows how the train parking is. What time do the lots fill up by in the morning?
Are there any houses in RVC that are within walking distance to the train, and if so, is that considered a desirable part of the village?

Thanks

There are many houses within walking distance to the train that are in desirable sections of the village. Keep in mind that RVC has an incorporated and unincorporated section. Residents in the incorporated section may purchase resident parking stickers at the Village Hall. I don't know how it works if you are in the unincorporated section.

To clarify - I just asked friends who are in the unincorporated section of RVC about parking stickers. They advise that you cannot purchase a parking sticker if you reside in the unincorporated section.

I disagree. Almost everything that is within an actual reasonable walking distance of the RVC LIRR station is commercial. There are a few houses scattered here and there, but they are surrounded by commercial enterprises from warehouses to stores to offices. Although if you care to live in a commercial area, these homes are lower-priced that in the nicer areas that are residential.

I suggest a visit to Get Your Walk Score - A Walkability Score For Any Address to scope out walking distance and walkability.

It depends what you consider "walking distance." I walk 2 miles to my train station every morning...and I wish it were further even. Some people think even a half mile is too far. It depends on your preferences.
