Hi there,

My partner and I are looking to move from London to somewhere in LA County, but not sure where. We have been looking at Malibu but its a little pricy and was wondering if there were any areas nearby that were just as lovely?

We are ideally after a place near the coast, no more than 45 mins drive and has a slightly more 'small town' feel as the hustle and bustle of LA is simply too much.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Try Playa del Rey. It is geographically separated from other coastal communities, and has a small town feel with no fast food joints, etc.

You might try the South Bay beach communities. Sort of a small beach town atmosphere in the middle of LA.

Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, and Manhattan Beach. Not as secluded as Malibu.

I hear the beach community is fabulous in Majorca. Maybe you and your "partner" should try there.
