A casino, Craigslist adult services (oh wait that closed down), a loan shark

All bad ideas.

And probably sounds like a bad idea to move without more than a few grand.

Thank you for your input!

You have very good points..I guess, if I can find a way to make those $1000 by February, I can for sure make it out in Los Angeles again.

Has anyone ever taken a similar challenge like this? What was the outcome of such experience?

@Don9 - ha ha ha ha no, those two are not pleasant to the eyes.

@Troof - I dont feel comfortable going to their facebook and uploading pictures of them just to prove a point. Like I said, Im really looking forward to the challenge! I guess what I really wanted to hear is personal experiences from the past from you guys....has anyone faced a similar situation?

Umm maybe in 1965 people came to LA with "nothing but $50 in their pocket" and immediately found work as a dishwasher and were able to afford an apartment and work their way up and now live in a Bel Air mansion.

No longer. Even $1000 in your pocket will burn faster than the Malibu bluffs during fire season.

I was always the most broke one in my last roommate situation and that was with my cousin and my brother. I didn't even like sharing a house with them so I would never suggest moving in with anyone, especially not anyone of the opposite sex.

Think about the damper it's going to put on ALL of your dating lives because anyone you date will assume there is either something going on or that one of you wishes something was going on. Being a guy, I know that I wouldn't want to date any woman that has a male roommate.

I say, if you have no other way to get here, do it but get out on your own as soon as possible. Once you manage to pay them back, start saving for your own apartment and move. I'll quote judge Judy once more, "It's better to live in a closet than to live with roommates."
