I went to Los Feliz School, King Middle School, and John Marshall High.

John Marshall High is one of the best non-magnet LAUSD schools on the east side of City of Los Angeles.

Good mixed demographic that's not too Armenian or Latino or Asian or White. It's not blatantly gang-infested like Lincoln High and Belmont High.

JMHS has pretty dedicated teachers and excellent AP classes. Whoever runs the AP program knows what he or she is doing.

I grew up about two blocks where Sunset intersects Hollywood. The more north it is up Hillhurst Ave, the more expensive it gets.

I live in Los Feliz and I love it. I walk everywhere, there are restaurants, bars, barber shops, a hospital and day clinic, auto repair shops, etc... all in Los Feliz. The rent is not outrageous, and I feel safe any time of night. I however cannot speak to the quality of schooling.

The school has API's under 700, placing it in the bottom third of schools statewide. The demographics list 68% Latino. It's probably more like 72-73% Latino since some Latinos list themselves as white. 17% Asian. Hardly the epitome of ethnic diversity.

Numbers were pulled from greatschools.org and now OP has all the facts.

Can't argue with Mr. Spock.

Listen to him, OP.
