At work today we had this conversation.Do you think that moron rappers like Dr Dre,Eminem and his homies encourage kids to think that gang life is cool.Do you think that some young kids are led into the gang life by the stupidity being played on commercial radio.I have noticed kids in Malibu dressing ghetto with tupac shirts and doo rags and I know that some of their parents are millionaires.Why would a kid want to immitate the poorest members of our society.When I was a kid I wanted to be shortstop for the Yankees not a thug who just got out on ten of a twenty year sentence.

I'm sure that most of those so-called "moron rappers" can afford good lawyers to prevent or shorten any jail time that they might receive.
While "
hip-hop " and rap music are influenced by gang life, it's probably more of a "fashion statement" than a "recruiting tool." Most kids wearing 2Pac T-shirts and "doo-rags" are doing it because they think it's "cool", not because they're members of the Bloods or Crips. Back in the 1950s, some folks probably wondered why kids were trying to imitate some poor hick from Tupelo, Mississippi named Elvis Presley.

Most definitely, music that glamourizes gangs can influence kids to gang bang especially when these artists become their role models. It is important that kids have guidance at home that teach them right from wrong, become good citizens and take music for just music and nothing else.
