Hello All, My wife got a job offer at long beach city college, we plan to move to there, we live wes san garbiel valley now. I plan to open a small business at the 90808 area. is that area ok for doing business? hows the safety? thank you for all

I went to grad school at CSULB and was interviewed at LBCC for a position once--the LBCC area is pretty sketchy.

The main strips there are pretty rundown. The student population at LBCC reflects the area, too. It's nothing like SGV.

Disregard the above post. 90808 zip code is Lakewood/LB and is one of the few true traditional middle class neighborhoods left in LA County.

The above post is partially correct...the main LBCC campus is on PCH and is not a good area.

But there's also a large campus in the 90808 area, and that is a good location.
