Sensational hip hop videos, as catchy as they may be, depict isolated incidents. No place on earth is all good or bad. South Central Los Angeles, like Oakland, Beverly Hills, Baltimore or Brooklyn, has its good and bad Areas. It is become primarily a community of mexican immigrants, over the last 15 years. The real Afro American gang action so adored by exploitation movie producers, has shifted north and eastward, towards Palmdale and The Inland Empire. South Central will never be Heaven on earth, but there are plenty of other California communities closer to hell these days.

Never? The area has a lot of potential if the people who lived there would pull together and clean it up.
It's close to downtown LA and it's on the Blue Line. That alone should make it a very desirable place to live.
