Hey,
Disregard job and commute (really).

Do you consider Long Beach to be very nice? 1900 E Ocean Blvd is the place I'm looking to live.

Is LB very far from downtown LA, and other LA Stuff? I'd like to bear near LA stuf, to do lots of fun stuff etc, is that going to be an issue? (ie commute to venice etc)?

Is it mostly safe?

Is it a lot of white people? middle class? poor class? hispanic? etc?
Thanks

E Ocean is by the coast so it's the better part of LBC... It's about 45 mins to an hour from Venice Beach. Not a long drive but the 405 is known for bad traffic... People who live there usually head down south to the OC beaches instead...

Long Beach is very nice if you stay south of 7th Street (Belmont Shore, Naples, Alamitos Bay area)

The Area around CalState Long Beach / Bixby Village/Bixby Knolls is also very nice (it was passed of as a midwestern suburb in "Ferris Bueller". "Donnie Darko" lived in the same neighborhood.)

The Donnie Darko house is on country club drive ... the Ferris Bueller house as well as the house from American pie is in the same neighborhood... THAT area is very nice... some of the area surrounding it isn't though... as mentioned, towards the coast it is nice, Belmont shores etc. I really like Seal Beach myself...

If you wanna be near LA you should live in LA.

In non rush hour, it's about a 30 minute drive from LB to DTLA. At rush hour, more like an hour. The Blue line is also about an hour ride from LB into DTLA
