There is something different about the texture and moisture content or my deep fryer runs at a different temperature as commercial restaurant. They are good but different.

I make oven fries that are awesome. Cut up potatoes into thick slices, put in a ziploc bag, drizzle olive oil into bag, season as desired, shake and place on a foil lined sheet pan. Bake at 425 for 15 min., flip and bake for another 15-20 min. I like to use rosemary, garlic, and some paprika for the seasoning along with salt and pepper.

I certainly don't frequent KFC, but I seem to remember they had huge wedge fries, good too.

Yea, this is what I do, too. My kids love them, as well. You can peel 'em, leave the skins, cut them in wedges or thinner, etc. Ridiculously easy and good. I personally find they absolutely satisfy the french fry or steak fry craving. Now, I want steak fries-thanks, OP.

Did this tonight with sliced sweet potato, homegrown rosemary, and coconut oil.

I had though these were the same thing but I was corrected. If I didn't finish a bucket of KFC earlier this week, the mention it would have me have way there tonight.

Someone mentioned Shakeys too.
