There are plenty of law firms in the Valley along Ventura Blvd especially, and lots of retail, restaurants and clubs.

Used cars are in much better shape in SoCal. No rust, and they are already outfitted with the mandatory smog equipment. There is a Metrolink station in North Hollywood as well.
One correction, it is a Metro subway station, not Metrolink commuter rail which would be in Sun Valley to the North.

Hi munchitup, thanks for all the great info!! I'm definitely finding that in order to strongly pursue entertainment a car is pretty much a must-have for exactly what you said - auditions, rehearsals, working at multiple venues, etc.

Here is Boston I've lived in Somerville (Winter Hill/Davis) for 3 years now. I grew up in NH and came down to Boston semi-regularly so I'm familiar with a majority of the city, but not everything. After college in VT I moved down here and the Somerville area is the only placed I've called home the past 3 years I've been here.

Good to know about Uber and ZipCar - two services that I use here as well!!
