Hi there! I spent a few months living in west side LA a few years ago and loved it. I have been trying to move back there for years from the east coast but there aren't many opportunities in my field near west LA. I particularly love Abbott Kinney, Manhattan Beach, and other laid back areas but also like some neighborhoods in Long Beach, Downtown LA, Echo Park, etc as well. Well there's a chance I can transfer my job to Moreno Valley, which I understand is an hour east from downtown LA. I've been to Ontario before and imagine it being similar. I have no desire to live in Moreno Valley, especially as a 30 year old black female young professional. I will be making a decent income (very low 6 figs) but would prefer to live as close to LA or even Long Beach as possible. I am looking for a good midpoint where I could commute no more than 30 minutes to work and about 30 minutes to LA proper and such for weekends. What is a good area that I could do this? I understand that I would be going the opposite way of traffic if I were commuting from the west to MV.
I am wondering if this would not be an ideal living/commuting situation and if offered the job in MV, should I decline and wait until something comes up that actually puts me in LA proper?

Thank you!

Moreno Valley is only an hour east of downtown if you go in the middle of the night. Otherwise, you'll hit traffic and it's a much longer commute than that.
