Hey all

I’m moving up to LA from San Diego at the end of the month. I have been browsing around craigslist and the likes for places, and have found a few of interest. I've been visiting on the weekends to explore as well. I will be working in the Santa Monica area (pico and the 10).

I've been looking in around the city for living, and have found similar places spread though out. I have been looking pretty heavily in Korea Town (like it) due to price. I like most of the areas. Also up by Macarthur Park, but seemed a little shady.

I found a possibility in Woodland Hills, but I am unsure about the drive.. I’m used to a bit of a commute, but how bad does the 405 get? San Diego traffic is pretty crappy too... so I’m used to some.

So mainly my question is in regards to safety/quality of living. I need a fairly inexpensive place, and a place to park my car. Also it'd be nice to walk around and enjoy a sunny day or down to the grocery store at night.

So far my options are a place in Van Nuys (woodman just east of the Amtrak)

Koreatown, I really like the area, but just wondering about it.

Wilshire.. 3rd and Manhattan area.

Woodland hills area (mainly commute but wondering about area also never been here..)

Thanks for any info.. Looking at my post it seems a little broad.. I’m kind of all over the city. I guess I’m wondering if I’m on track, its a bit over whelming just going up there blindly with printed pages from craigslist... It’s a big place.. HAHA.

Thanks again

Those places will be bad commutes. Find something near where you work.
