I am a prospective resident of Los Angeles. I wanted to attend Charles Drew University. What is the school like? I notice they have a low student enrollment, which I am greatly appreciative of, I feel like I will learn more in smaller classes. In addition to that, I will not have a car. Will life truly be hard in LA without a car with the rail, bus, ride share companies, and uber or LYFT as options over a vehicle.

Well, It's in the hood. I wouldn't want to live in the area. It is walking distance to the Blue line however so it is possible to get their by public transport. What's your budget? I don't know anything about the school.

Just because a college's enrollment is small, does not mean the classes will be small, and vice-versa. USC has some of the smallest class sizes in the area yet is one of the largest schools.

Hadn't heard of it before. It's in Watts or Watts adjacent,
The school itself is definitely in an area with high violent crime.

Violent Crime Ranking - Mapping L.A. - Los Angeles Times (#22 on list of 272)

Might not be as big a deal if you are just driving in and out in your own car..but I probably wouldn't want to be taking public transit or walking around there.
