It all depends in PUSD on what school your child is going to. My children luckily go to Hamilton Elementary in Pasadena and it is actually pretty good and the test scores are high too. But the first year we were here my son had to to Jefferson for the stupid TK program and it was the bottom of the barrel. It's a largely ESL school with some black people mixed in and that is a fact.

But yeah rent for anywhere good in Pasadena is$2-2500 a month at the very least.

We will make good money and be able to live in a nice neighborhood.

Thanks for the advice as always!
One of you is going to have a horrible commute. Or, both of you are going to have bad commutes. This depends on where you end up living.

South Pasadena is a good choice. Schools arent bad, relatively good commute for the Glendora employee. Studio City employee should expect a 45-60 minute commute each way in normal rush hour.

Just as another poster said, "good money" can mean anything. If you really have "good money" then private schools are the best option but still expect one of you to have a horrible commute.

Exactly. "Good Money" can fix a lot of things but it can't fix LA traffic

Wasn't OP's spouse a Dr who was going to be working in Brentwood? That's quite a jump to glendora.

And South Pasadena USD is a very good school district. And, as you mentioned, the Glendora commute would be against traffic.

The nice areas of Burbank would be best. You do not want to be out in the boondocks. Studio City is one of the best places to be in LA.

Except Burbank to Glendora is going to be significantly more miserable.

Exactly. But really, north Pasadena (i.e., Inglewood north) is extremely avoidable.
