More Garcetti, more money to yet another fake help the homeless prop that's just another taxpayer rip-off, and Prop S is failing because most people fell for the lie that S would decrease affordable housing, so developers are going to continue to overbuild this city and laugh all the way to the bank. BTW, how many of you actually know why variances exist? Did anybody who voted against Prop S actually bother to look into variances and realize that they've been abused to the point where we may as well do away with zoning altogether?

Brilliant. Just brilliant. Thanks for being a remarkably informed electorate. I love you all. XOXOXO

It's a bit early to call it a day, but Measure S would decrease several of the available sites where affordable housing could be located. How is that a lie?

Good job to the informed and intelligent voters who realized Measure S was a stupid idea for folks who don't understand how planning works.

Some good news: Measure H appears to be going down. I've been reading that it's close, but falls short of the two thirds needed to pass.

That could change. But I'm cautiously optimistic at this point that H is going down.

Surprised how many people didn't realize how bad this would have been. Don't get me started on comments in those L.A. times articles. Never seen so many disgruntled hatefulness in one page. Not to me tion the echo chamber of ignorance aboht how cities work.

Overall, its a sign of the times. Los Angeles' suburban days are over. There is no going back. It oassed the filter and whether you like it or not, density is the future. It's inevitable.

Is this 1/4% homeless tax permanent???? Los Angelinos just LOVE raising their own taxes.

Looks like Measure S is going down. LA has too much traffic. The less living space the BETTER!

Well, it looks like Measure H has passed, with 67.44% of the vote.

Very close. Suspiciously close.

Won't do anything to end homelessness. But it will provide lucrative jobs and pensions for government workers and nonprofit activists, who'll punch a clock while pretending to end homelessness.

Variances exist because our General/Community Plans and zoning are incredibly out of date.

Proposition U was passed in the late 80's and it reduced the allowable density in COMMERCIAL zones by half. That measure was passed by a coalition of selfish NIMBY Homeowners who always played the "developers are greedy" card when in fact they were only lining their own pockets with gold.

As A.H. Whitmore has demonstrated in his planning history of LA, the parochial homeowner groups had an outsized influence on City Hall from the late 60's through the 90's. Their outsized, selfish influence has been waning since about the year 2000. Good riddance.

This ain't the 1950's anymore Beaver. Thankfully common sense has prevailed and the very misguided Measure S has failed.

Intellectually inferior people voted for mayor s***head, one bill gil etc. as well as no on s.
Stupidity rules LA. People jealous of homeowners and in favor of throwing up (literally) overpriced and ugly buildings prevailed. All the pols have no reason to pretend there is effective city planning as you morons gave them the green light to continue adding visual blight to LA. More is not better as time will show you shortsighted sniveling cretins. You know what you can do if you don't like my post.
