Black-on-Asian is of little interest to the news media, so it only gets a police blotter mention.

Well, last year there were 153 incident of hate crimes reported, and 68 of them were committed against black people (blacks have been the most victimized by hate crimes in L.A. for many years running).

I don't know, but I'm White and I was the victim of a hate crime in SM years ago. Back when I smoked, I didn't give a Black man a cigarette because I only had one left. I was called a number of racial epithets and was genuinely frightened because at the time I was just a skinny 21-year-old rocker dude; however, I didn't report a hate crime to the authorities.
Point being, there are probably quite number of hate crimes that don't get reported, so I'd hesitate to rely on police statistics. And yeah, I call BS on them.
