Hey! I live in Orange and will need to go up to Brentwood just a few times a week for meetings.

I just moved here pretty recently and have some questions about times and the freeways:

-At 5AM going SOUTH from Brentwood, what is the best route to orange: 10 to the 5, or 405 (to the 22)?
-At 3:30PM going NORTH from Orange, what is the best route to Brentwood: 5 to the 10, or 405?

Thanks in advance, appeciate it.

Would consider 10-710-405 for times you suggest....esp to bypass the generally congested 405 nr LAX....and 5 from DLA into OC tends to be more problematic....

going to and from that area i usually take the 105. the 5/10/60 interchange(east la interchange) is the worst in the world

so coming from orange you could take the 5N to 605S(for a mile or two) to 105W to 405N. you could do the same on the way back. you avoid the south bay curve and you avoid the east la interchange. you could also take the 22W to the 605N to the 105W(and reverse) instead of the 5 if you pleased.

Traffic is relatively light at 5-6 AM, you can take the shortest route, which is 405 to 22.

405N is extremely congested after 3 PM from LAX all the way to Brentwood and UCLA, you do NOT want to be there. I suggest 22 to 405 to 710N to 60W to 10W.

I wonder what kind of job involves meetings that require you to leave home at 3:30 PM and come back at 5 AM the following morning.

You lucky son of a gun. Take the 405. If your directionality is correct, you'll be going against traffic both ways and get to sail past the parking lot on the other side of the divider. I used to commute from LA to Long Beach via the 405 and I had smooth sailing at an avg of 70 mph 90% of the time.

haha, thanks for the responses! Basically the story is that I'm an account exec in Orange, but I help out as a script consultant as well. Those meetings are usually in the evenings and I crash at a friend's overnight before heading back to work the next morning. It'd be twice a week tops, but I was just wondering.

I see by Google maps that the 405 at 3:30pm is pretty much a mess, so I'll take an alternate route then...but I'll take the 405 at 5am since it does look pretty harmless.
