I have to agree with all the above. It's great to hear the truth for once. S. Californians are basically "live and let live" people who are happy for you, whatever you're doing.

I think the only time folks here get rude or aggressive is when we're driving hehe -- getting stuck in traffic is one of the few things where no one rich or poor can avoid here.

I also didn't expect people to be so nice. We drove through Beverly Hills today, and a man we passed on the street smiled and said hello. I was astonished. But almost everyone we've encountered has been very nice, open and welcoming.
