Default what about pacific palisades?

OK - Pacific Palisades seems nice - but I think that means private schools. Is it nice? How long to Universal City? Are the private schools that are not outrageously expensive...and not full?

You are asking a lot of questions but not giving us much to work with. What is your price range? Are we talking $500K? $1M? More?

What about your spouse, where will your spouse work?

Pacific Palisades to Universal City will be rough for commuting at normal hours.

OK - thought Pacific Pal. was too far. I'm trying to find a place that feels like a real neighborhood..sidewalks, young children. Like to be able to walk around rather than have to go in car all the time. Friendly people.. Price range >$1MM. Any ideas.

I've read good things (in other threads) about South Pasadena, Burbank and La Canada, and La Crescenta as were written in this thread but I don't personally know too much about them. They are probably close enough not to be too painful. Westlake, Agoura and Calabasas are really good too but the drive would be rough - might want to look at them anyway.

Is renting an option for a while to provide more time to research? Ask colleagues? Where do they live, where do their kids school?
