Just curious if anyone else heard / felt the Space Shuttle Endeavor's sonic boom as it came in to Edwards this afternoon? It was sometime after 1 PM, and heard / felt it in North Hollywood. Thought it was one of those short, sharp quakes at first!

Pretty cool is all I'm saying. Wish I could have seen it come in.

Lucked out trying to figure it out =D...the USGS site didn't show any quakes that looked like they could have caused it, and then I noticed a news article saying the shuttle had been redirected to Edwards to land (at about that time) so I'm assuming that's what it was. Most likely explanation and all that!

Yep, we were at Edwards AFB to see it come in! Just one of the many benefits of living in the Antelope Valley.

Did anyone hear two sonic booms within a second of each other? There are actually two booms but they may sound like one.

Ah thanks! Yes I heard it. I thought it was a military jet or thought worse that a commercial aircraft crashed.

I'm in Torrance.

Yep, heard it. Heard it was coming to Edwards on the early news this morning and set my watch alarm for 1pm to remind me. I warned my kids it was coming around 1:20 or so. My 18-yo daughter thought that was stupid. She was driving down the street when it "boomed" and thought that she hit something. Then she remembered what her "dumb 'ol" dad told her this morning.
