We are going to the Rod Stewart concert tomorrow night. I was going to try to use Metro Rail to Staples Center but my husband vetoed that idea, so now we are driving.

We usually go the 101 east to the 110 south. Is that the best route, traffic-wise? How is the 405 south in the early eve? What about the 10 East?

We'll be leaving Thousand Oaks about 5:30pm, trying to get to Staples Center by 7:30ish. I hope we make it! I have heard that there is a lot of road work in the area near Staples center.

Does anyone know which roads are closed for construction? Any streets we should AVOID? Which area should we try to park in? We use to park right across from Staples Center, right on Figueroa - but I heard that lot is now for people who buy parking in advance (sold out now of course).

thanks for ANY advice you'd like to share...

If you are driving from TO, 101 East toward Hollywood and downtown to 110 South is the most practical way to go. I would not suggest any other freeway route from where you are coming.

Thanks, we did take the 101 to the 110, and it was great. It actually only took us about 35 minutes to get there - I was shocked. We hit NO traffic at all until we got on the 110, and even that was not bad.

What exactly are they building next to the staples center? They have a huge hole in the ground...
