Wink Anyone from Los Angeles move to upstate New York and Regret it?

Hello. We are putting our house in Shadow Hills on the market this month. Any one from California move to New York only to end up moving back. We are pretty sure we are doing the right thing... just wanted some feedbback from some people like us who are from Los ANgeles and decided to relocate back East. Thanks to all.

No, but I moved to Texas and regretted it and now we're moving back.

Nope - but I moved to Seattle and have hated it for three years - we're moving back!

I would post what I hate about Texas, but the Texas lynch mob will folllow me from the Texas forums into these forums and string me up by the thumbs. (So much for that good 'ol down home Texas hospitality! LOL) It's already happened several times. But you can check out my posts in the Los Angeles forum on "Moving" and that will give you an idea of why I'm moving back. Oh, and anything in the Texas forums that I posted will have a bunch of hateful, snide anti-California posts following it.

If LA people can't stand Seattle, then upstate NY is out of the question.

My SIL's father and his wife moved from Southern California to Finger Lakes area. They visited the area in summer and purchased a home. They cannot stand all the cold and snow. He has very bad arthritis now and wants to return to CA but can't sell their home.

I like heat - Seattle never gets out of the 40s (it's May 1st and it's grey cloudy drizzly and 45 degrees - shocker!)

EVery stays in their houses (with kids)

Everything is crammed around here - and the good areas for schools are not in Seattle! OH and the HILLS! I miss riding my bike in the warm sun year round and NOT having to push a bike up a hill.

Gotta strengthen those legs Citygirl! You're not supposed to push your bike uphill - you gotta ride it!
