I live in L.A. and when i went to san antonio texas (which by the way suked) i went to a really nice jazz cafe. It was nice. The guys were about 90 years old (exaggerating) and they played beautifully... are there any jazz cafes around here? in hollywood perhaps? i live by LAX... .thank u!

There are some jazz clubs in Long Beach, I have caught some bands on the Queen Mary.
If you listen to
KKJZ 88.1 FM they announce upcoming events. You can't miss the
Long Beach Blues Festival (http://www.jazzandblues.org/events/lbbf/2009/microsite/info/ - broken link).
Also keep up with the Hollywood Bowl, they have plenty of jazz, also the
Playboy Jazz Festival
