You want to see a ridiculous description of the word 'ghetto'?

Go to www.dictionary.com and look up the word ghetto!

Here I save you the trouble:
Quote:

ghet·to
   /ˈgɛtoʊ/ Show Spelled[get-oh] Show IPA
–noun,plural-tos, -toes.
1. a section of a city, esp. a thickly populated slum area, inhabited predominantly by members of an ethnic or other minority group, often as a result of social or economic restrictions, pressures, or hardships.

2. (formerly, in most European countries) a section of a city in which all Jews were required to live.

3. a section predominantly inhabited by Jews.

4. any mode of living, working, etc., that results from stereotyping or biased treatment: job ghettos for women; ghettos for the elderly

According to;
#1: Entire State of CA if ghetto.
#2: Almost -if not- all Europe is ghetto.
#3: Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Bel Air is definitely and totally ghetto.
#4: USA is ghetto.

lol

I agree. Most of LA city is not what we think of when we say ghetto. It's only certain areas like the southeast part of the city that's mostly impoverished. Maybe some areas of the San Fernando Valley looks neglected, but it's far from being a slum and constitutes a small area of the valley. This is in contrast to say the Bay Area where according to their forum, looks pretty bad at most places except for the northwest part of San Francisco itself. To be fair, I guess I shouldn't compare the entire Bay Area region to just the city of LA.

Lol. I think Ghetto is far more than just what an area looks like. It's the people, it's the culture, it's the lifestyle. I can understand where your coming from because I have visited El Paso a few times when I used to live in San Antonio. El Paso as a whole in my opinion looks like an impoverished Mexico neighborhood but that is NOT what makes it ghetto. It's what occurs there that would make it like that. And you can't really base things off of what you see on the internet. If you actually go to there, who knows what would become of you? Also, those neighborhoods that you see probably didn't look that way back in it's gangland prime.

Trust me, I know first hand how looks can be deceiving. I used to live in Boynton Beach, Fl a few months ago. If you go there, there is landscaped homes, plush green everywhere, clipped trees, sprinklers, upscale buildings and shopping centers galore. But you would never know that it is the most ghetto hood and undesirable city of Palm Beach County. Major crimes are commited all the time there. People get robbed on a daily. Gang fights and burglaries between the native and Caribbean kids are common. But you would never know from just looking at it from Google Maps.
