We have lived in Texas our entire lives and my husband just got out of the military and was offered a job in Hackberry, LA. We are a family of three with one on the way, and we need to be relocated within the area within 3 weeks. We are completely unfamiliar with the area and really can't afford to take a trip to stay for a week or whatever to "explore" or whatnot. Any suggestions of any rental property companies or apartment complexes to investigate? We have looked online, and found very little in Hackberry. Any info on Lake Charles or the surrounding areas? Help!

I've been to Hackberry . Nothing there but a Govt. oil storage facility . Lake Charles is your best bet .

If you decide to live in Lake Charles, then the Hackberry commute will be about 40 minutes. There is nothing in Hackberry. Lake Charles has schools and all the best amenities. You could try looking for places in Sulphur, which would shorten your commute by about 20 minutes.
