I searched for a thread where we could report local weather conditions for the Lubbock area but couldn't find anything that seemed to fit so here's the place to report what's happening in your area of the Lubbock South Plains, e.g. recent rainfall amounts, tornadoes being seen, hail is falling, ice building on trees, high lines or roads, snow is falling, etc. I'll start:

Approx. 35 miles NW of Lubbock: We received 1" of rain today and it looks like more coming tonight.

I'm over by Tech; it was really beautiful yesterday, rainy and dark all day, which is nice if you like that. Fall is definitely my favorite time of the year.

Hope the mod puts this in a sticky. Good idea, HPR.

I just noticed that I said I'm NW of Lubbock. That should be NE.

Yes, it's still looking like we may get more rain. One can hope.

It never got over 45 degrees here today and tonight it is supposed to be clear and cold with our first temperatures of the season below freezing (30 degrees.)

I keep wondering if we may have a real winter this year?

Texas South High Plains, northeast of Lubbock - It's overcast this morning with our first light snow for the season on the ground. It's 22 degrees with a light breeze blowing.

But for the wood stove going full-tilt, IT IS COLD! Place "brrrr" icon here.

If you don't like the weather now, just wait...it's 50+ and sunny (55 at 1:50 in Lubbock according to Texas Tech Mesonet)

Rainfall measured here northeast of Lubbock from May 23 through last night, June 14, 2014 is 6.1 inches. And it doesn't appear to be finished.
