Not really. We have fall clothes and summer clothes. If we move there I guess I'll have to learn to dress in layers I suppose. Do you know what the temp in Bucksport is like in winter time. Actually what the four seasons are like? Thanks for the info in advance.

molto grazie, mio paisain' (sp)

Layers is good for hiking and stuff like that. But for every day wear in the winter time I use a combination Fleecy/sweater, and flannel lined jeans. I combine this with a down parka, and gloves, and a hat with ear muffs. For walking the dog, I also have a pair of polar filled pants. You will also need waterproof boots.

You can check the temperatures of any city in the USA by going to Bucksport, Maine (04416) Conditions & Forecast : Weather Underground which in this case is Bucksport. Scroll down on the left and you can get the temps for any time for the past 15 years or so. Last December 2, it was a high of 50 in Bucksport. But by December 6, the high was 29F.

Where I live: the seasons are like this. Winter generally runs from about mid November to about late April. Spring runs from about late april to late early June. Summer runs from mid June to about late August, and Fall runs from about late August to last October.

Spring comes later on the coast due to the cold water than the interior. Bangor has leaves on the trees about 2 weeks ahead of MDI. But then fall last longer on MDI than in Bangor, because the water on the coast keep the air warmer longer.

People here start complaining about winter in early April. And many of them start wearing shorts on the first day of spring no matter what the weather is. I'm too old for that nonsense. Last year we got ten inches of snow that day, but I saw some girl waiting for the bus in shorts. She probably waited a long time since school was cancelled(a rare event)

The roads on MDI are pretty well cleared off before the end of most snow storms, partly due to the hundreds of mosquito trucks. While the big snow plows blow on by, the little pick up trucks on their way to their next driveway, also plow the roads too. In towns the seem to put the snow in dump trucks and cart it off somewhere. Not the ocean; EPA won't allow that because the salt in the road salt might get into the ocean, and you know, turn it salty.

Does the road salt have the same chemicals as the ocean salt? Serious question.

Probably not. It was a joke. I should have used a smiley.
