i travel 1-95 just about every work day

and most of the year and most of the time it goes smooth.. not congested

only around rush hour- work commute times,, is traffic a bit heavier,,

around holidays, and a few weeks in summer,,it is also heavy..

if anyone drives thru boston traffic regularly, maine is a treat

most of maine is rural,,

above portland on the turnpike , traffic is usually uncongested..

above augusta,,, you can pass freely, above waterville,,, very rarely heavy, above newport- the same, above bangor,,,it can be an open raceway..

and in most of small town maine,,you may have a traffic light in town,,or may not,,,but usually not backed up at all

ive been driving in southern new england more and more and more around boston and surrounding cities,,
im always glad to see the "welcome to maine" sign,, on the turnpike,,

a couple weeks ago i drove back from springfield mass in a snowstorm,,took 6 hours,,,mostly backed up in massachusettes..
when i got to maine,,,still snowing hard,,but not one back up on the turnpike
