Some of the rental truck companies have crews available for loading and unloading fairly inexpensive. Also if you are a member of the American Legion of Veterans of Foreign WRs United Van Lines has a generous discount.

Hi Kiwiluver,

'Kiora, (I like NZL Radio, and all about the country)!

I will look into a U-Haul day crew for the Peru unloading, just in case my lady Realtor can't get me two fellows.

I'm not a Vet.

I just heard today that the Closing has been delayed another week, and should now be around September 15th.

When this is all said and done, I'm going to write a Book about it.
It's looking like a Government Contract, delays, delays and more delays.

Oh well, more time to pack stuff.

CTwoodnutt, getting there, at a Glacial pace.

Good things are worth waiting for.

Enjoy the anticipation, it's part of the pleasure.

:-)

"I just heard today that the Closing has been delayed another week, and should now be around September 15th."

In Maine you have a right to choose your own closing agent. It is usually a title firm. Call them and get a specific reason for the delay. We don't need to know why. YOU need to know why.

Yeah, I guess you been anticipating long enough.

I agree, we moved last year, I priced out all the options, & it worked out that, hiring movers, was cheaper than doing it ourselves. Call around & get prices. When you add in the cost per mile of some of those trucks for hire, it can get expensive.

I checked with three professional movers, who came back with ridiculous prices...

The price quotes which I got ranged from $4600 - $5800 - $6895.

Each is waaay too much for me.

I can get at 26' Uhaul with car carrier for $1395-

I've gotta go with that, as I don't have much money.

It looks like my closing won't be until at least the week of Sept 18-22.

Oh well.

Hi Northern...

Yes, I know that I could choose my own Closing Agent/Title Firm.
People's United Bank has been handling all of this, and at this point in the game, (7/8's complete) I "don't want to upset the apple cart" if you know what I mean.

These delays were caused by the Bank having to obtain certain documents, and getting them ready for and to hand directly over to the Underwriter.

I should be able to close by the third or last week in September.

(This is like working with the Gov'ment on projects or contracts, delays, cost over runs and more delays).

I used to work at Barden USA/F.A.G Bearing Corp in Danbury, CT and we worked with The US Government and Germany (German held Company) on various projects and contracts.

Bureaucratic Bull-Plop, but it is what it is and I can't do anything but wait.

Oh well, it's good training for Patience, right?

Have a good Labor Day.

Irv in CT slowly getting there.
