This is actually part of a contest sponsored by the Maine Association of REALTORS, we are giving away a first prize of 20,000 along with other smaller prizes. There are currently 155 videos entered and the finalists have been chosen. You can see more videos on You Tube here:

I have so enjoyed watching these over the last few days. It's amazing, each and every one of the videos pretty much tell the same story, WE LOVE OUR STATE. No matter which part of it we are from, the sentiment is the same.

I've gone as far to send the link to a few friends down here. They too have mentioned that they've never seen, been to or heard of a place where people are so much a part of their community. A place where people are so proud of where they come from or belong to. One friend said "it's almost kind of like a cult!" I thought that was funny.

I think this should be the official song of Maine!

(Once we live in Maine, can I say "wicked awesome"? Or do I have to be a native Mainer?)

You don't even have to wait to get there, just start saying it now. It'll freak your friends out a little bit, but they'll get used to it. I've got my Floridian friends saying it now. Practice makes perfect!
