natural wreath rings?
I was thinking of making holiday wreaths without the metal rings. Does anyone have any ideas for vines, saplings, or limbs I could harvest this time of year to make base rings for wreaths. I used to make grapevine wreaths but I'm not sure I'll find any or if they will be pliable this time of year.

If you use grapevine T, just soak them in the tub for about a half hour in warm water. That should make them pliable enough to curve. Or you could look for some ivy vines and just wind it around enough to thicken the circle for strength enough to hold the greenery.
An easy look I've seen is just small straight branches criss-crossed into star shapes and put on the outside of windows. You could put a bow in the center of them. No muss, now fuss decorating.

T~
They'd look really pretty in white birch or even if you spray painted them white and used red bows they'd look neat. Unique!
Sorry for the hard times upon you now. Keep your faith and keep on keepin' on girl. Things will work out in due time. Hugs coming your way.

I try to stay away from bittersweet this time of year 'cause sometimes it looks like poison ivy. Better safe....
for that reason I'd just as soon stick to sapling branches or very obvious grapevines.

If God had wanted us to use natural wreath rings, he wouldn't have invented crappy cheap, metal ones.

I'm with you, I miss dumps. My wife said I brought home more crap than I left there. I once got a small commercial grade deep fat fryer I used for 20 years! Made LOTS of fried clams in that baby! It finally sprung a leak a few years ago!
