The new plate sayis "War of 1812" and is made in honor of the 200th anniversary of the start of the war. Does this offend you that the state is honoring a war?

No. It's American History. (And the colors look much better than the standard issue plates from 25 some years ago)

Why would this be offensive?

I am not a liberal, nor do I find the license plate offensive. I do think it is poorly designed. When driving you can't see anything on the plate that identifies it as being a Maryland plate, or anything that screams "War of 1812." My personal fav is the farm plate, looks great on a red or yellow car.

I have Bay plates (got them when they first came out, several vehicles ago) on all my vehicles except for the Ducks Unlimited tag on my truck. Oldest son has those on his truck, also.

Why would anyone be offended by the new tags? Although I'm sure someone is.

I actually thought/think MD's standard plates are one of the coolest, though I really like the NY plates... The old late 1970s MD plates were REALLy boring.
