Hello everyone. My fiance is from Baltimore and I am from the south. I have agreed to move back up north with him, but not sure where to start looking for a nice home that we can rent and I can still keep my car. I have noticed that Baltimore is mainly public transportation..any suggestions

Driving is very popular in Baltimore. Public transportation is an option too. Most people I know in Baltimore drive.

You might be better suited for the suburbs? What sort of things do you like to do? If you tell us a little more I'm sure the posters here could recommend some areas.

And welcome! You know, to people up north, this is the south!

Alittle more detail about us:
My fiance and I are looking to move from Georgia to the Baltimore area this summer. We haven't been planning this move for a while (its only been about a week because jobs are becoming far from any here. I have been unemployed for over a year and need to find somewhere where we both could work) and really need some good advise. My fiancée is in mid late 40's and Im in my early 30's and we have no children. He may have a job lined up, i am not sure. im looking for good employment as well. We're looking to rent first with rent of around $1000.00, but looking online i see we may have to increase that. I've been looking into the Baltimore area but would like to have a fair opinion about the best areas in the Baltimore county if possible. My largest concern is finding a nice place with safety & security. I dont want to end up in the wrong parts of town. Fun wise I enjoy walking, going to park, shopping, dinner, cooking, movies..I am not really into bars/clubs.....any and all information would help and is greatly appreciated..Thank you

Rent for that price will require some flexibility. It will probably get you a decent one bedroom in a pretty good area.

Some under-$1000 apts in nice areas I found on Craigslist to give you an idea:
