Greetings.

I am looking at a job offer in Baltimore (Woodlawn area). We currently live in Silver Spring and my husband works in Alexandria Va. My commute would be a reverse commute and the traffic isn't terrible.

Is there a train I can take and then connect to a commuter bus? Is there another area that would be in the "middle" of our commutes? I do prefer MoCounty because of schools...Thanks all

You could take mass transit, but it'd be about the biggest headache you can think of. I'd rather shoot myself in the foot than try to do that via transit.
You're looking at Metrorail to Union Station, MARC to what I think is Camden Station (the MTA site is horrible to figure the transfer out) to get on the Rt. 40 express bus to Woodlawn.

From Silver Spring to Woodlawn is actually not too bad.... I'd say its still better than your other half's to Alexandria. I commuted from Potomac to BWI for a year - which took about 50 minutes in the morning and just over an hour in the afternoon....

The MARC does have stops along the way between DC and Baltimore (Camden Line)...but not sure if that will save you any time / money.

Unfortunately, it would be faster to drive to the Woodlawn area. It would take a while to take the train to Baltimore and then a commuter bus out to Woodlawn.

If you're looking at one of the 2 big Federal agencies there, they often have ridesharing shuttles/vans set up by employees that run between the DC suburbs and Woodlawn.

Thanks all!

The drive isn't bad-I currently drive to Columbia. I wanted to see if there was a alternative in case I "need" to take a break from driving.
