Thank you all for the information on this forum! We are mature, not quite ready-to retire adults looking to relocate in the area to be closer to children in Washington. We are looking to rent, or rent-with-option a 2+ BR home or condo in safe area, within walking distance and/or public transport to shopping, restaurants, coffee shop, etc. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We would like to keep rental to under $1500, yet still have modern amenities. Is this realistic? Is the area really as preppy/Starbucks as many posters make it sound? Thank you all for your replies!

Here is a new place that would have everything you need,
www.visitatc.com , I am not sure if the apartments are open yet or if they would be under $1500 per month.
I have never used the public transportation in Annapolis and I can't think of anyone I know that uses it either so I can't speak for how convenient or clean it is. Unless you live downtown or maybe at the apartments above you will want to have a car to go anywhere.
